If there is an emergency, where you have not been able to contact us and your child is at school beyond 4.00 pm we will act in your child’s best interests to ensure they are safe and follow Lambeth’s procedures. If you are unable to make contact with us at school please telephone Lambeth Social Care, Integrated Referral Hub on 020 7926 5555 or the Emergency Duty Team on 020 7926 1000. Our aim is that children are in a safe place with familiar adults until contact is made with the parent or named relative/family friend. Please appreciate how important it is that we have up-to-date information about how to contact you.
Parents/guardians are asked to supply names, addresses and telephone numbers for other people who regularly bring or collect their children. We also ask for the name of someone who may be contacted in the case of an emergency. It is vital that the school is notified immediately of changes to addresses, telephone numbers, or emergency contacts.
If someone arrives to pick up your child who is unknown to us, we will not let your child go home with them and may contact Social Services for assistance, if the need arises.
Please would you always let us know (by telephone or in writing) if there is a change in your arrangements.
Note that Social Services Guidelines recommend that children under the age of 16 are not considered old enough to be responsible for bringing children under 5 years old to or from school. If there is a Court Order restricting access to your child, we need to have a copy of this on file for legal reasons.
